Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM), which has been spearheading the campaign for a separate Gorkhaland, today declared the names of their candidates in Darjeeling hills of West Bengal.

“Tilak Deowan, Dr Rohit Sharma and Harka Bahadur Chhetri will contest in Darjeeling, Kurseong and Kalimpong seats respectively as GJM candidates in Darjeeling hills in the coming assembly polls,” GJM president Bimal Gurung told a press conference here.

Meanwhile, one GJM supporter was arrested and the police seized 17 khukris (small daggers), 1000 litres of illicit liquor and detained 23 people during pre-poll raids in Darjeeling in the past two days.

GJM supporter Anup Chamling was arrested from Happy Valley tea estate for carrying seven khukris with him.
