A 19-year-old college student was killed at Pipra village in Bihar’s Kaimur district on Friday after she resisted a probable rape attempt, the police said. The police have identified Pintu Singh and Bhuar Singh as the culprits and they are absconding. They have been booked for murder and theft. The victim had gone out with her mother on Friday. When they returned home, they found the two youths at home. They tried to attack the daughter and in the struggle that followed, she was throttled to death, Superintendent of Police Umashankar Sudhansu told The Hindu .
Although there were no injuries on the victim’s body, Mr. Sudhansu said it was likely that the attackers made an attempt to rape her. “It looks like they tried to rape her. Otherwise they would not have killed her.”
