Get cracking, Amit Shah tells BJP workers in Manipur

BJP president Amit Shah here on Sunday asked party men in the North East to celebrate the success of the nationwide membership drive. Over 10 crore new members were enrolled in the party.

Mr. Shah also instructed party functionaries to open BJP branch offices in all the nine districts of Manipur. He inaugurated a building on the BJP office premises in Manipur. Ral Lal, national general secretary, inaugurated a temple constructed on the campus. Before leaving Imphal, the two leaders were closeted with party men. They are believed to have talked about strengthening the party in Manipur.

The BJP has no elected representative in Manipur. The party is planning to open its account in the Autonomous District Council elections to be held on June 1. Mr. Shah and Mr. Lal had come on a two-day visit to the State with an eye on the elections.
