Four armed cadre of NSCN(I-M), a part of the security team of Th. Muivah, were arrested near here by Assam Rifles personnel on charges of violating the ceasefire ground rules, police said on Friday.

Personnel of 16 Assam Rifles arrested the four with arms and ammunition from Jotsoma village on Thursday where NSCN(I—M) general secretary Thuingaleng Muivah has been camping since Wednesday.

An FIR was later lodged by Assam Rifles personnel charging them with violating ground rules, police said.

Two AK 56 rifles, one M16 rifle, one 9 mm pistol, three hand grenades and a radio set along with a huge cache of ammunition were seized from them, police said.

The cadres were allegedly moving around brandishing weapons in the populated area of the village, but as per CF ground rules the armed activists should not roam around in civilian areas.
