Four people were killed when a truck skidded off the Jammu-Srinagar Highway and rolled down into a deep gorge in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban district on Friday.

The cattle-loaded truck, which was on its way from Kashmir to Jammu, skidded off the highway and rolled down into the gorge at Khoni Nallah belt in Ramban district, officials said.

All the four persons died on the spot, they said, adding that the bodies have been recovered. However, no information has been received about the cattle on the truck.

Those dead have been identified as Muhammad Abass Wani, Parvaiz Ahmad, Mohammad Asha and Mohammad Rafiq, officials said.

A case has been registered and an investigation into it has been started.
