One jawan killed, three injured in Manipur ambush

One personnel of 44 Assam Rifles was killed and some others wounded at Nambisha in Ukhrul district on Saturday morning.

The personnel were on a road opening patrol in the montains when the insurgents detonated a powerful bomb. The injured personnel identified as Mehta was rushed to hospital. However he expired on his way to hospital.

There were retaliatrory fires from the Assam Rifles personnel. However there was no report of injury among the insurgents who managed to escape. Additional forces have rushed there for launching combing operations.
