Four gangmen killed after being hit by speeding train

Four gangmen of the Central Railway who were engaged in routine work on the track, died after being hit by the Koyna express near Kalyan in Thane district on Sunday morning.

The deaths occurred due to the negligence of the flagman who was supposed to alert the workers after spotting the speeding train, railway police said. The flagman was the first to be hit by the train.

The four – Dattaram Devji Kadam (50), Jaichand Gangaram Dubhashi (53), Pandurang Kashiram Ghare (53) and Harinana Gabale (53) – were immediately rushed to the nearby Mahatma Phule hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.
