A Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) special court on Tuesday sentenced 64 accused to various jail terms in the fodder scam case and imposed fines on them. The imprisonment ranges from four to six years.

This is the 40th case in the infamous fodder scam disposed of by the special court here. There were 86 accused when the trial in this case, involving false withdrawal of Rs.12.98 crore from the Doranda Treasury within three months in 1995, started. Thirty one accused were sentenced in the same case earlier.

Twenty accused died during the trial and three were released because of insufficient evidence against them. The CBI said the accused had produced false bills without supplying veterinary medicines to the Animal Husbandry Department.
