Five KPLT militants arrested in Assam

Five militants, including the general secretary of the Karbi Peoples Liberation Army (KPLT), were arrested by a joint police and Army team from Krogaon in Karbi Anglong district on Thursday.

KPLT General Secretary Ranam Mirjang and four other militants were apprehended by a team of state police and Army’s Jat Regiment, Superintendent of Police M.J. Mahanta said.

A huge quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from them, Mr. Mahanta said.
