As many as 12 members of five families have been given ticket by the Congress-Nationalist Congress Party alliance in Goa for the March 3 Assembly elections.
The allottees are Speaker Pratapsingh Rane (Poriem); his son Vishwajeet Rane, Health Minister (Valpoi); Public Works Minister Churchill Alemao (Navelim); his brother and Minister for Urban Development Joaquim Alemao (Cuncolim); Valanka Alemao, daughter of Mr. Churchill Alemao (Benaulim); Atanasio Monserrate (St. Cruz); his wife Jennifer Monserrate (Taleirgao); Pandurang Madkaikar (Cumbharjua); his brother Dhaku Madkaikar (Priol); Home Minister Ravi Naik (Ponda) and his son Ritesh Naik (Madkai), all from the Congress.
Yuri Alemao, son of Mr. Joaquim Alemao, has been allocated NCP ticket to contest in Sangeum but has not been announced as a candidate. For, the party is yet to declare its candidates officially for the seven seats allotted by the Congress.
Roy Naik, younger son of Mr. Ravi Naik, is one of the serious aspirants for the Mayem seat.

In the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party-Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party combine, two Dhavlikar brothers, Ramkrishna and Deepak, are contesting in Madkai and Priol on MGP ticket.
While Arjun Salgaoncar, son of the sitting MLA Anil Salgaoncar, filed his nomination on Tuesday as an Independent in his father's constituency of Sanvordem, his elder brother Sameer Salgaoncar has already announced his candidature as Independent for the Mandrem seat following denial of ticket by the Congress.
The Congress, which has announced 29 candidates, is grappling with the problem of multiple nominees in the remaining four constituencies — Fatorda, Mormugao, Canacona and Sanvordem.
