Fire damages building in Kolkata

A major fire broke out at a posh street in the metropolis today, damaging a portion of a building housing a shopping mall and other offices here.

Ten fire tenders went to the building in Camac street, after the incident was reported at 0840 hours and extinguished the blaze within two hours, police and Fire Brigade sources said.

There was no casualty or injury, they said, adding, the extent of damage was yet to be ascertained.

The sources said the fire broke out from the kitchen of an eatery located in the first floor of the building.
