Khushii, an organisation that works towards women empowerment and saving the girl child, has come out with an initiative to portray the way a father influences his daughter’s life, shapes her image, confidence self-esteem and how she approaches life in due course.
The organisation has brought together fathers and daughters as inspiration for others to follow. Khushii has also roped in well-known photographers to photograph the father-daughter duo to bring out a coffee table book titled “Timeless Portraits of Love”.
The book features 100 of the country’s achiever fathers with their daughters, shot by Daboo Ratnani, Jatin Kampani, Suresh Natrajan, Amit Pasricha, Rohan Shreshta, Nikhil Rai, Saify Naqvi, Sudhir Ramachandran, and Rafique Sayed. Some of the other people who will be featured in the book are Sajjan Jindal, Rahul Bajaj, Habil Khorakiwala, Rahul Kirloskar, Amit Kalyani, Krishna Bhupal, Pranab Mukherjee, Chiranjeevi, Kapil Dev, Naresh Trehan, Nirav Modi, Mahesh Bhatt and Javed Akhtar.
The book, to be used to raise funds for educating girls from underprivileged backgrounds, will be launched at a fundraiser on April 24.
The event will also auction art in which the artists have looked beyond the canvas to produce works. The lots include Raja Ravi Varma’s litho stones, S.H. Raza pendant set in diamonds, a bull head by Valay Shende, painted temple by Jayasri Burman and chairs by J.J. Valaya, Varun Bahl and Ritu Beri, among others.
