Farmer shot dead

A 45-year-old farmer was shot dead by unidentified men when he tried to stop them from stealing a tubewell motor from his farmland here, police said on Saturday

Ajab Singh, a resident of Diwalhedi village, was killed when he protested against the miscreants trying to steal a tubewell motor from his field. The accused are absconding, they said.

“The miscreants were trying to steal the motor from his farmland. Seeing this, Singh, who was working on the field protested and tried to stop them but was attacked and killed by them,” SP Jagadish Sharma said.

Efforts are on to nab the accused, he said. - PTI
