Ex-Mumbai Congress chief charged in assets case

The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Saturday submitted a charge sheet against former Mumbai Congress president Kripashankar Singh and his four family members in a disproportionate assets and corruption case. The charge sheet was submitted to the Sessions Court department here.

According to sources, the charge sheet has named Kripashankar Singh, his wife Malti Devi, son Narendra Mohansingh, son-in-law Vijay Singh and daughter-in-law Ankita Singh as the accused.

A Special Investigation Team involving officers of the EOW and Income Tax department was formed to investigate charges of forgery, corruption and massive disproportionate benami assets against the politician and his family.
