Eight-year-old boy drowns in swimming pool

An eight-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool of a housing society in Indirapuram here on Wednesday evening. The matter was reported from Amrapali Royal Society located in Vaibhav Khand.

Parth had come from Bareilly with his parents to visit his grand uncle who lives in the society. Parth who was playing in the park reached the swimming pool and accidentally fell into the deeper side, demarcated for adults.

“Around 20 children were inside the swimming pool when Parth also jumped into the pool. When a lifeguard saw a child floating in the water, he jumped in and brought out the child. The child was immediately taken to a local hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead,” said a resident of the society.

The family refused to file any police complaint.
