Dorjee Khandu is all set to be sworn-in Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister for a second consecutive term. The newly elected Congress legislators re-elected him as leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Saturday. Mr. Khandu is to be sworn in on Sunday.

He called on the Governor, General (retired) J.J. Singh, to stake claim to form a new Congress government after party president Sonia Gandhi gave her nod to his re-election.

All-India Congress Committee (AICC) observer V. Narayanaswamy announced the unanimous election of Mr. Khandu. All the 42 newly elected legislators were present at the meeting. AICC observers Mr. Narayanaswamy, L. Falerio and Sanjay Bapna met the legislators after the hour-long CLP meeting to know their individual opinions.

Mr. Khandu has already scripted political history by getting elected unopposed from the Mukto Assembly constituency in Tawang district for the third time.
