Door-to-door survey began for National Population Register (NPR) and census in Tripura from the official residence of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, official sources said on Monday.

“This is a part of a National Programme. The central government will collect all personal information about an individual in each family which would be given an identification number and used as ready reference for future use. It is an unique effort,” Director of Census Operation (Tripura) Dilip Acharya said.

The Chief Minister appealed the people to cooperate with enumerators and census officials for preparation of NPR and collection of census data.
