Civil rights groups here on Thursday flayed the disruption of Christmas celebrations in Pratapgarh allegely by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal activists. The activists had manhandled the participants accusing them of indulging in “forcible religious conversions.” Two of the organisers, taken to the police station for questioning, were let off late in the night.

The People's Union for Civil Liberties said the incident had proved that the Hindutva forces had spread their net in Rajasthan and were working to polarise the society.
