Differently abled woman raped in Kolkata

A differently abled woman was raped allegedly by one Ram Kumar Yadav near the Kolkata Railway Station in the northern parts of the city, the police said on Friday.

The incident occurred late on Thursday evening and the accused allegedly took the victim to a desolate spot on the pretext of offering her some food and raped her. Some locals raised an alarm and police personnel, who were present in a patrol van, arrested him.

He was produced before a city court later in the day. According to the locals, the woman was seen in the station over the past few days. She has been admitted to R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The incident comes only three days after a teenager was raped allegedly in a moving car in near Park Street. Two persons were arrested in connection with that incident.
