Diarrhoea claims six lives in MP village

Six persons have died due to diarrhoea in a week and several others fell ill in Agharia village after the outbreak of the disease here, officials said.

“About 35 people complaining of diarrhoea have since been admitted in the district hospital and two persons have been shifted to Bhopal,” Gairatganj Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) V P Setoka told PTI.

The victims who were suffering from diarrhoea symptoms were identified as; Brajesh (22), Harisingh (5), Rekha (15), Preeti (8), Shersingh (8) and Gudda (5), officials said.

The District Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr. B.K. Choubey, visited the affected village yesterday where villagers shouted slogans against poor health services. Meanwhile, a three-member team of doctors are camping in the affected village.
