The followers of Guru Dera Saccha Sauda Ram Rahim allegedly set ablaze the Nising block development office near here, police said.
The office furniture and other articles were gutted in the fire as people threw petrol through an open window of the office, situated at Chirao Chowk, about 10 kms from here, Additional SP Vedprakash Godara said.
They also tried to destroy the jeep of the Block Development Officer, he said, adding some office records have been destroyed due to the incident.
They also tried to set on fire the nearby building of Punjab National Bank. No arrest has been so far.
