CPI cadre block Fadnavis’ convoy

May 24, 2015 02:31 am | Updated 02:31 am IST - PUNE:

As the Maharashtra police have failed to make any progress in the probe into the murder of CPI leader Govind Pansare, CPI workers blocked the convoy of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Kolhapur on Saturday as he arrived for the party executive committee meeting.

The police dragged away the protesters, who shouted slogans accusing the BJP government of scuttling theprobe by transferring police officers.

Assailants fired at Pansare, and his wife on February 16. He died four days later.
