A sessions court at Margao in south Goa on Friday granted the former Goa Tourism Minister, Mickky Pacheco, permission to travel broad, and directed the police to release his passport. But he should surrender it within seven days of his return.
The Nationalist Congress Party legislator, prime accused in the Nadia Torrado unnatural death case, is now out on bail.
In response to Mr. Pacheco's application, judge Desmond D'Costa asked the police to release the five mobile phones and three SIM cards seized from him, as the forensic report of their tests were already received. But the court declined to release his computer, which has been sent for forensic testing.
The court asked Mr. Pacheco to furnish an indemnity bond for Rs.50, 000 and an undertaking that he would surrender the mobile phones and SIM cards whenever needed by the police in the course of the investigation.
Mr. Pacheco had pleaded that he be allowed to go to the U.S. for 15 days from August 15 to meet his business commitments.
