Constable, two Maoists killed in Bastar encounter

One constable and two Maoists were killed in an encounter in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh on Friday.

“The encounter took place in Harrakoded village under Mardum police station. Bodies of two uniformed Maoists have been recovered. One constable of the Special Task Force — Budhadev Sahu — was also killed in the encounter,” informed S.R. Kalluri, Inspector General, Bastar range.

“The deceased constable belonged to Balod district of Chhattisgarh,” said R.K. Vij, Additional Director General of police, Anti-Naxal operations. Police recovered arms, ammunition and a tiffin box bomb from the spot.
