The family of a teenage tribal girl from Sukma district in south Chhattisgarh has accused security personnel of rape.

However, the police are yet to register an FIR.

The 15-year-old’s family, from Chintagufa in the Maoist-hit district, said the incident took place on the morning of April 1. The father of the victim has alleged that a group of policemen came to his house around 4 a.m. and attacked his family.

Two local journalists, who spoke to the victim and her family, said the latter continue to be in shock and the girl had not yet been sent for a medical examination.

However, Sukma district Superintendent of Police Abhishekh Meena denied the incident.
