Stepping up his diatribe against the UPA government led by Congress, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday alleged that the Centre was ignoring the state. It was evident from the former’s alleged apathy towards according special state category and flood package to the state.

Renewing his demand for according the status of AIIMS to the Srikrishna Medical College Hospital in Muzaffapur, Mr. Kumar said he had already written to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for giving the AIIMS status under his health security scheme.
“The hosptial meets all the criteria for becoming AIIMS-like hospital”, he said.
The Chief Minister said he had also raised the issue in keeping with the sentiments of MPs from the state who too approached him for the cause.
Mr. Kumar also expressed serious concern over alleged tardy pace of work on the AIIMS in Patna.
“I raised the issue during a meeting with Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad recently in New Delhi who assured him of doing the needful in this connection”, Chief Minister added.
