Cell to check human trafficking

The territorial police have formed a separate cell to deal with cases related to human trafficking.

Superintendent of Police (Crime and Intelligence) Pradip C. Hota has set up the cell under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police. It consists of an Inspector, a Sub-Inspector and three constables.

On the objectives, Mr. Hota, in his order, stated that besides investigating cases related to human trafficking, it would identify gangs and organisations involved in such activities. The cell would liaison with non-governmental organisations for proper settlement and treatment of such victims, especially if the victim was a child or woman.
