CBI court issues arrest warrant to two in Imphal

The special CBI court of Narcotic Drug and Psychotropic Substances, Thoubal district, issued arrest warrant against two accused persons for their failure to be present for hearing.

The accused persons are Letmilan Haokip and Haominthang Tuboi. The accused persons along with three others were ordered to be present in the court on June 20.

It may be recalled that police at Pallel in Thoubal district seized drug valued at Rs. 30 crore in 2013. One of the five persons arrested was Ajay Choudhury an army colonel who was the public relations officer in the defence wing in Imphal. Another arrested person was Seikholet Haokip, a son of T. N. Haokip a former speaker and minister of Congress. They were released on bail on May 19.

On Tuesday only three of the accused appeared before the CBI court.
