CBI charge sheet against juvenile in Sonawane case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday filed another charge sheet in Manmad, Nashik, in the case of murder of Yashwant Sonawane, Additional Collector of Malegaon, who was burnt alive allegedly by members of an oil adulteration racket in January this year. The charge sheet was filed against a juvenile accused of being involved in the murder.

The murder evoked strong reaction in the State and 15 lakh government employees and gazetted officers went on a one-day strike in protest.

On Monday, the CBI filed charge sheets in a local court in Manmad against three other accused.

“The CBI has filed four separate charge sheets,” CBI spokesperson Dharini Mishra told The Hindu . The charge sheets have been filed against seven accused, three of whom have been charged with murder.
