Miscreants decamped with Rs. 1.10 crore cash in old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 denominations from the Dhenkanal Gramya Bank. The incident came to light when the bank reopened on Monday. The miscreants committed the theft by breaking 13 locks. All preparations had been completed for transferring the deposited money to RBI on Saturday. But due to a technical problem, the cash could not be despatched, said Naba Krishore Sahoo, branch manager of the Dhenkanal Gramya Bank. “We are analysing CCTV footage,” said Basant Panigrahi, Dhenkanal Superintendent of Police.
