The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday arrested a suspected Jamaat-ul Mujahideen Bangladesh member at Sealdah in West Bengal in connection with the Bardhaman blast. The agency has so far arrested 18 terror suspects in the case.

The accused has been identified as Wahab Momin, a resident of Murshidabad. According to the NIA, he is a trained member of the Bangladesh-based terror outfit. He allegedly provided shelter to Bangladeshi JMB cadres, including Tarikul Islam and Nasirullah, who have been absconding since the blast at Bardhaman on October 2 last year.

“He organised meetings of JMB cadres at his residence and also recruited young men for the outfit, as per the statement of witnesses. He had gone underground after the blast. The accused will be produced before a special NIA court in Kolkata on Sunday,” said an NIA official.
