Bulandshahr: Depressed constable kills two cops, kills self

A depressed constable shot his two colleagues in police lines in Bulandshahr district on Monday night, the police said. According to Senior Superintendent of Police Bulandshahr Anees Ahmad Ansari the 34-year-old constable Saurabh Tyagi shot himself on head after opening fire at his colleagues in police line on Monday night.

“Constable Saurabh Tyagi started firing inside the police line about 9 pm. According to the information we have so far, the incident happened suddenly. Took by complete surprise many policemen ran into different direction and tried to protect themselves by hiding into the rooms,” Ansari said.

“Two constables Manoj and Chandra Pal who tried to stop Tyagi from firing got injured in the process. Head constable Manveer Singh got injured while he was running for safety. While Manoj died on the spot because he was shot in chest, teh rest two injured police men have been admitted in Merrut hospital,” added the SSP.

“At this stage we are unable to say much but we are certainly trying to investigate what was the reason which led Saurabh take the extreme step,” said Mr. Ansari.

Ansari said that Saurabh Tyagi was 2005 batch constable and he was reportedly depressed for last few weeks.
