A senior BSF official who was suspended in connection with the killing of a 16-year-old boy, withdrew his anticipatory bail plea on Wednesday even as the Jammu and Kashmir police began the procedure to summon him for questioning on Thursday.

Commandant R.K. Birdi, who was suspended for his alleged role in the killing of Zahid Farooq, appeared before the Additional District and Sessions Judge Shakti Gupta and argued that he was not absconding and said it was the police that was not taking action against him.
