Bomb threat to Bihar railway stations

The Bihar police have received an anonymous letter carrying the threat of bomb explosions at railway stations during the upcoming Chhath puja celebrations.

The Railway police received the letter on Monday in which it warned of bomb explosions at Raxaul, Bettiah, Motihari and Muzaffarpur stations on November 8 and 9, when the State would be celebrating the Chhath puja, K.K.Bharti, station house officer of Railway police told The Hindu .

The police have verified the origin of the letter and further investigation was on.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up at the railway stations in light of the threat during the festival.

“We have also alerted all the local police stations,” Mr. Bharti said.
