Four tourists from Delhi were rescued after their boat capsized in the Dal Lake here following high velocity winds, police said on Monday.

Several tourists were out on sightseeing trip on ’shikaras’ (wodden boats), a star attraction for people visiting Kashmir, when they were caught in high velocity winds and tides on Sunday evening.

Three of the boats capsized. Police, however, immediately swung into action and rescued four tourists hailing from Delhi, while others swam to safety.

There was no casualty reported due to the winds which briefly swept parts of the city on Sunday, police said.
