BJP workers misbehaved with Kejriwal, says AAP

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) alleged here on Thursday that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers misbehaved with its party chief and candidate here, Arvind Kejriwal, and tried to block the way of its leaders during their election campaign.

Mr. Kejriwal who held public meetings through the day was on his way to meet more people when the incident occurred.

AAP volunteers said BJP workers tried to block the movement of Mr. Kejriwal, who, accompanied by Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, was headed to a paan shop.

“The BJP workers not only indulged in illegal activities but also made obscene gestures and used abusive language in full public view. All these activities have been recorded on camera,” an AAP worker said.

The AAP said the incident was an attempt by the BJP to “vitiate” the atmosphere.

“The AAP will not be cowed down by such unacceptable behaviour of the BJP, and demands that the Election Commission ensure that no party be allowed to create trouble during the elections. This is not for the first time that the BJP has tried to create hurdles in Arvind Kejriwal’s campaign. The saffron party, which runs away from a healthy debate and avoids answering questions, is deliberately trying to create tension with a view to disrupt any possibility of the election being fought on real issues,” the AAP said in a statement.
