BJP protests

May 10, 2013 03:03 am | Updated 03:03 am IST - DEHRA DUN:

The Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) cadres burnt effigies of Uttarakhand Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna in a State wide protest against the hike in power tariff on Thursday.

Sloganeering against Mr. Bahuguna, large numbers of BJP activists burnt his effigies at Dehra Dun, Kashipur, Pithoragarh, Almora, Naini Tal, Tehri and Uttarkashi.

The activists wanted the people to rout the Congress in the Lok Sabha polls next year just like they had defeated all the six Congress mayoral candidates in civic polls recently.
