The central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party would soon take a call on initiating disciplinary action against its MP and actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha for his pro-Nitish remarks, party vice-president C.P. Thakur said here on Wednesday.

Praising Mr. Kumar’s leadership a day earlier, Mr. Sinha had said that the Bihar Chief Minister was PM material.

“It is up to the party high-command to take action against him since he is an MP. His statement was indeed very unfortunate. At a time when the all our workers are working hard to make Narendra Modi the Prime Minister, Mr. Sinha’s statement was highly inappropriate. The first time it could be a misunderstanding, but this is the second time he has said something inappropriate. He cannot make such statements while staying in the party,” party vice-president C.P. Thakur told The Hindu .

Mr. Thakur said the party’s parliamentary committee will decide in the issue after August 5.

Meanwhile, Ram Kishore Singh, who was served a show-cause notice by the party and stripped of his post of spokesperson submitted his resignation to the State unit on Wednesday for his generous remarks on Mr. Kumar. Asserting that he did not wrong, he vowed that he would bring the BJP down.
