BJP fields Sushma’s sister from Haryana

The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Union Minister Sushma Swaraj’s sister Vandana Sharma from Safidon seat in Haryana for the October 15 Assembly polls.

Ms. Swaraj was present in the meeting of the Central Election Committee on Saturday that cleared the second and final list of 47 candidates for the 90-member Assembly. The meeting was chaired by party president Amit Shah and attended among others by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“The party has given 15 seats to women and 22 to youth and taken care to give representation to all sections of the society,” said general secretary J.P. Nadda.

The party’s deputy chief of the Mahila Morcha Latika Sharma has been fielded from Kalka and another office-bearer Ghanshyam Das Arora will contest from Yamunanagar. Jai Bhagwan Sharma will contest from Pehowa.
