Bihar minister charged for model code violation

Bihar Minister and senior JD-U leader Renu Kumar was today booked for allegedly violating the model code of conduct ahead of elections in Bihar, officials said.

She became the fourth minister in the State against whom FIR has been registered on charges of violating the model code, they said.

The FIR was lodged against her in Murliganj police station in Madhepura district by Block Development Officer Janardan Prasad, official sources said.

She has been charged with holding meeting with JD(U) activists last evening without seeking permission from the authorities.

Other ministers facing similar charges are Ashwani Kumar Choubey, Ram Pravesh Rai and Brishen Patel.
