A Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) team headed by a deputy director-rank official on Thursday arrived in Jodhpur to examine the spot where nurse Bhanwari Devi’s body was believed to have been disposed off.
The team visited the spot in Jaloda village where Bhanwari Devi’s body was believed to have been burnt in a crater and is collecting evidences, police sources said.
Evidences will also be collected with the help of divers from a canal in which the remains were thrown after setting the body on fire in the pit.
“It was revealed by Kailash Jakhar, who was nabbed on the Jodhpur-Ajmer highway following a tip off and later placed under arrest, that he obtained Bhanwari Devi’s body from Sohan Lal Bishnoi and Shahabuddin after they picked her up from Bilara on September 1,” the sources said.
Sources said that he has admitted to have taken possession of Bhanwari Devi and disposed her off in Jaloda village near Phalodi, about 150 km from the city.
Mr. Jakhar is an active member of the Bishna Ram Bishnoi gang. Bishnoi, who was carrying a cash reward of Rs. 5 lakh on head, was also arrested on Wednesday in Pune and was brought to Jodhpur on Thursday.
He is also being interrogated at the CBI’s local office.
The CBI director A.P. Singh and Additional Director Salim Ali have also arrived in Jodhpur to monitor the progress in the case which is now at the conclusive end.
Bhanwari Devi had gone missing from Jodhpur’s Bilara area on September 1, 2011.
