Bangladesh border soldier detained in South Tripura

Tension ran high along the border in Belonia of South Tripura on Tuesday after an incident of trespass by a trooper of the Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB). Local police said the Border Security Force (BSF) detained him after he breached the border uncaring warnings.

The incident occurred in Kalikapur locality at around 9 a.m. The uniformed soldier identified as Mohammed Sahajahan Mia, 24, belongs to 4th battalion of the BGB.

The intruder was released and handed over to BGB in the afternoon after discussions between the border forces in two successive flag meetings, convened at the request of the BGB.
