Careful driving of an Ola cab driver helped a woman and the baby who was delivered on the back seat safely reach Kamala Nehru Hospital in Mangalwar Peth.
On October 2, Kishori, an expectant mother, was experiencing anxious moments. Her husband Ramesh Singh booked an Ola cab to take her to hospital.
Realising that the woman was due to deliver soon, Yashwant Galande drove cautiously mindful of bumps. “When we reached Timber Market, I heard the cry of the baby. Fortunately, as it was a national holiday, I didn’t have to face the dreaded Pune traffic,” Mr. Galande told The Hindu .
The family has thanked Mr. Galande. In fact, Mr. Galande drove the happy mother with her newborn home after they were discharged on Thursday afternoon.
Ola has gifted the baby and the mother free rides for the next five years which can be availed of by a special coupon, named after the baby.
