Art of Living case to be heard on Friday

April 22, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:02 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The National Green Tribunal on Thursday reprimanded the Art of Living for “frustrating” the process of law seeking to know why they allegedly prevented an expert committee, set-up on direction from the Court, from visiting and inspecting site where the three-day World Culture Festival was held recently.

The matter is to be heard on Friday and the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has been asked to present the exact details about handing over the site by the Art of Living.

A committee was sent to the Yamuna floodplains to evaluate damage caused by the World Culture Festival by order of the Tribunal. Previously an expert committee had found that site — 1,000 acre of the eco-sensitive Yamuna floodplains — was cleared and flattened for the festival.
