Army, police bust hideout in Poonch

A militant hideout was busted in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir and arms and ammunition, including motor bombs and grenades, were recovered from it by a joint team of police and security forces.

Acting on a tip off, police and army (Rashtriya Rifles) launched a search operation in the general area of Tatakuti near Hilkaka adjoining Badgam District under Surankote Police Station area in Poonch on Tuesday, a police officer said.

During the search the hideout was busted and recoveries made from it include two UBGL, two Chinese grenades, one AK magazine, 103 Pika rounds, 51 AK rounds, one binocular, two motor bombs, one wireless set battery, four remote control IEDs, a local made IED, the officer said. A case has been lodged and investigation taken up, he said.
