Army officer injured in Poonch blast

An Army officer was injured in a blast in Poonch’s frontier area on Sunday.

A district administration official said a Junior Commissioned Officer, Om Prakash, of the Army’s 5 Mahar, suffered splinter injuries in Mendhar area, which is close to the Line of Control. The injured officer was shifted to a hospital in Udhampur.

The Army said the officer was in stable condition. The blast was not a “result of Pakistan’s shelling”.
