The Gadchiroli police have found explosives in a well hardly a few metres behind their headquarters.

On finding some bullets in the well, the owner of the farm where the explosives were discovered, informed the police, who reached the spot and drained out the well.

“An AKM assault rifle, an Insas rifle, 513 cartridges of 9 mm pistol, a 7.62 mm SLR (self-loading rifle), a .303 rifle, two 40 mm Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) with two grenades, 48 cells, 78 used cartridges, one SLR magazine, one walkie-talkie and one 51 mm mortar bomb case with a detonator box were recovered from the well,” the police said in a press release. Police sources said they were clueless about the origin of the arms and forensic experts’ help would be taken.
