“Apple growers resent outsourcing of cold stores”

Himachal apple farmers have strongly resented the outsourcing of government-owned cold stores to private companies who are allotting just 25 per cent of space to the apple rowers to stock their produce.

The government had allotted two big CA stores at Gumma and Jarol Tikkar to private companies Adani and Dev Bhoomi and have given them various subsidies to operate in the region, blamed the farmers.

Various Apple Growers Associations have also opposed the unilateral decision of government in increasing the freight charges by 12.50 per cent.
