Amitabh Bachchan maybe chief guest for IFFI's 2014 inaugural

Superstar Amitabh Bachchan is most likely to be invited as chief guest at the inaugural function of the 45th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

The IFFI 2014 will be held in Goa between November 20-30, which has been recently accorded the status of permanent IFFI venue.

Talking to presspersons on the sidelines of a function at the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG)’s premises on Tuesday, Mr. Damu Naik, Vice chairman of ESG, Goa’s nodal agency for IFFI, indicated clearly that it will be Amitabh Bachchan. He added, “It will be India’s University of acting.”

He said that the formal announcement in this regard would be made at appropriate time at appropriate time by organisers.

He also confirmed that the delegates registration for the IFFI 2014 had already begun on-line from September 18 and by Monday, 2237 delegates had registered.

The organisers want to cross 13,000 numbers as against last year’s 12,916, Mr. Naik said.
