Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday asked youths to celebrate Valentine’s Day as ‘Taj’ day and pledge to take up activities related to the monument of love – Taj Mahal. He asked people to work towards beautification of Agra and keep the city clean, particularly the Taj Mahal complex which is famous across the world.

Mr. Yadav, who visited the Taj Mahal along with his wife Dimple, who is also an MP, unveiled the logo ‘Mera Agra’ and said his government was promoting Agra across the globe under its promotional campaign titled ‘Uttar Pradesh – Home of the Taj.’ The government was planning several new infrastructure projects to improve the city, he added.

At the Taj Mahal premises, the couple inaugurated ‘lover’s seat’ and got their pictures clicked. Mr. Yadav also unveiled ‘Black Taj,’ a replica of the iconic monument made of sand by world-famous sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik, who hails from Orissa. The sand monument has been put at the ‘Taj Nature Walk,’ 500 metres from the world heritage monument.
